The driver and software are not developed for Microsoft Surface running Windows 8. The compatibility refers to the following operating systems: Windows 2000/2003, Windows XP, Vista Windows 7, Mac OS and Linux. Microsoft Surface is using a modified version of Windows 8. The device will never work in such system unless the official manufacturer develops a driver for this OS.
